Living illustrated cities
unfolds.city is a collection of living, illustrated web cities. Each city follows real local time and weather. Life in the city is simulated: we do not track real people or traffic.
Who it is for
Visitors can explore a city without an account.
Businesses can rent a digital placement in a city, such as a billboard, poster or shop window, and show their own creative on it on the days they choose, once advertising sales are open. It is digital, not physical outdoor advertising; we do not guarantee impressions, clicks or reach.
Supporters can make a voluntary contribution towards our operating costs once contributions open. See Voluntary contributions.
Current status
The public site is a preview. Advertising sales open when the client area for advertisers becomes available; from then on, purchases are governed by the Terms of Purchase. Until then, buying advertising is not open to the public. Voluntary contributions are not open yet either.
How buying advertising works
- Create an account with your name, e-mail address and a password, and verify your e-mail.
- Fill in your organization's billing details, including your Company ID or VAT ID. Advertising is sold to businesses only. If your business is established in an EU country other than the Czech Republic, enter your VAT ID and verify it in the client area; the check uses the EU's VIES system, stays valid for 90 days and is required before you can pay.
- Choose a city, a placement and the specific days of display.
- Upload your creative, label and link.
- Check the summary with the final USD price and accept the Terms of Purchase.
- Pay once by card on Stripe's secure payment page. There is no subscription.
- After payment, a person reviews every creative before it is displayed (Terms of Purchase, Article 7). Nothing is shown without this approval. Content in a prohibited category is rejected, and the Terms set out what happens to the price, so please read them before paying.
- Your creative appears on the placement on the days you bought, in the city's local time.
Voluntary contributions
Support unfolds.city — a voluntary contribution towards our operating costs. It's a gift; you receive nothing in return.
You can dedicate a contribution to a city. The dedication is symbolic, non-binding, statistics only.
